How we work

After starting your intake process with Michelle, you will be meeting with Sofie for a two hour, in home consultation meeting. At the consultation we will establish exactly what is needed for the space and the design direction we are taking.

Getting to know the client(s) and how the space will be used is an essential part of this meeting. This will be followed up with a Scope of Work email, including a comprehensive task list and recap of the consultation.

If we are a match for your project, we will continue following our 15 step project managing process to deliver a turn key experience.

SBD 15 Step Process

  • Step One

    Consultation with Sofie Blunck or design associate.

  • Step Two

    Signing of Agreement, receipt of retainer and commencement of project.

  • Step Three

    Trade Day: on-site measurements, photos and final criterion meeting.

  • Step Four

    Execution of floor plans, sketches and elevations, sourcing fabrics and furnishings.

  • Step Five

    Presentation of design concept, estimates and furnishings/materials; collection of deposit.

  • Step Six

    Placement of orders.

  • Step Seven

    Review of budget.

  • Step Eight

    Initiation of construction and renovation.

  • Step Nine

    Installation period continues and receipt of orders.

  • Step Ten

    Furniture installation and styling.

  • Step Eleven

    Client reveal.

  • Step Twelve

    Deficiencies walk through.

  • Step Thirteen

    Resolving deficiencies.

  • Step Fourteen

    Client closure meeting and presentation of final invoices.
