A space with a nod to relaxing days on the beach
This family loves to travel and some of their best memories are from sunny days by the ocean. The beach is their happy place.
So why wouldn’t we take that into consideration when designing their updated en-suite?
But first we needed to adjust the layout slightly, to function better.

Before
Although spacious, the bathroom only had one sink and the shower unit seemed small in proportion to the huge corner bath tub. Since the bathroom entrance was an arched doorway(no door) , privacy was basically non-existent.
We added a sliding door in the bedroom and opened up the walk in closet to the space to make it feel more open. By replacing the corner bath with a free-standing tub, we gained some space to build a custom tiled shower. We replaced the vanity with a two sink drawer unit and a makeup table in a soft taupe. The countertop is a honed quartz that resembles pebbles you might find on a beach and the light fixtures set in the mirror above, has shells that creates a beautiful soft glow when dimmed.
The w/c space is now enclosed and a 4×12″ textured white subway tile was added to the walls and shower to create a fresh contrast to this tone on tone bathroom.
